Manganese steel flights can last approximately three to four times longer than standard mild steel flights. Wheelabrator Supplemental Long-Lyfe manganese steel conveyor mill flights are available as a cast or fabricated product and are made from the most abrasive resistant grade of manganese steel for maximum service life (11-14% manganese steel). They are recommended for use with steel shot in the 40-50 (Rc) hardness range and all sets should be the same style based on the customer's application and product requirements.
