Wheelabrator Automated Airblast Peening Systems are designed keeping in mind the exacting standards and specifications of the Aerospace industry.
The twin cabinet peening system typically finds applications where there is a requirement to peen ID and OD areas of parts in dedicated cabinets simultaneously in order to address production requirements. Typical parts processed in such a machine include fan and compressor disks, blisks, and all other parts where ID peening of main bores is required.
OD areas can be processed in a door-mounted horizontal mandrel. Such a loading orientation permits peening the part from both sides assuaging fears of distortion.Multiple nozzles mounted on dedicated carriages provide nozzle motion along the part radius.
ID (Main Bore) is processed in a dedicated blast cabinet using a separate nozzle manipulator. A single part is loaded on a door-mounted rotary table.
Cabinet design offers an innovative, aircraft style pneumatic profile seal to prevent media leakage and reduce source noise.
The twin cabinet designs offers the advantage where the media reclaim system components are shared between both cabinets, thereby substantially reducing investment requirements, operating costs and increasing utility.
Wheelabrator’s intuitive and ‘easy to use’ controls ensure process repeatability and consistency of results.
The Wheelabrator Automated Twin Cabinet Peening System is completely tested and proven out at our manufacturing facility to ensure a ‘plug-and-play’ system when it arrives at your plant.
