Wheelabrator Roller Style Peening Systems are configured to clean, peen or etch parts that are long and cylindrical and need to be blasted on the ID and OD. Such parts might include engine shafts in the aerospace industry or general purpose pipes in the mining or allied industries.
Roller style systems typically incorporate multiple sets of rollers mounted on a work car or located inside the machine. Rollers spin individual parts along its axis while being blasted.
Nozzle manipulators, carrying a single nozzle traverse along the part length to blast the OD areas while the part spins. Rollers are provided at varying center distances to accommodate spinning of different diameter tubes without incidences of part locking.
ID areas are cleaned by a lance style nozzle mounted on a dedicated nozzle carriage that penetrates the tube through one of the ends.
