Vibratory Mass Finishing Media & Consumables

Comprehensive Range of Vibratory Finishing Media, Liquids and Powders

Wheelabrator Vibro offers a comprehensive range of vibratory finishing media available in different compositions, sizes and shapes

As the choice of vibratory media plays a vital role in achieving the right results it is important to know which media is suited for which types of application. Ceramic media for example, can be used for various processes from heavy grinding to fine polishing whereas plastic media is typically used for more gentle surface finishing and non-ferrous materials such as die castings. Media shape can be critical in the success of your application as different shaped media in the same composition and size will bear completely different results.

Ceramic Media

Wheelabrator Vibro Ceramic Media is of a consistently reliable and high quality, and can be used in all kinds of vibratory mass finishing and centrifugal finishing machines and applications. Ceramic chips are most commonly used for steel components, and applications can include deburring, scale removal, polishing, smoothing and surface homogenisation.

Plastic Media

The superb quality Wheelabrator Vibro Plastic Media can be used for all mass finishing applications, and in all types of vibratory finishing or centrifugal finishing machines. Applications include deburring, smoothing, superfinishing, pre-plating and pre-anodising. Plastic media is best suited to non-ferrous metals.

Vibratory Finishing Compounds

Vibratory compounds are an integral part of the mass finishing equation, without them, applications such as deburring and polishing would be impossible. The main aim of compound in vibratory mass finishing applications is to ensure the complete mass stays clean.
By keeping parts clean the media will be able to do its job, by keeping the media clean it will last longer and by lubricating the mass as it moves through your machine, the life of the lining of your mass finishing equipment will be extended.

Furthermore, the use of the correct compound enables other process requirements to be conducted such as degreasing, brightening, polishing and will also ensure component inhibition against corrosion during and post process.

Wheelabrator Vibro offers various types of vibratory compounds: liquid, powder and paste. Liquid compounds are the more commonly used in vibratory mass finishing applications, however processes demanding stringent finishing applications can often find success with powder or paste compounds. All compounds can be added manually or automatically using automated pumps or feeders.

A line of recyclable compounds are also available when using a centrifuge wastewater system which allows your liquid compounds to be reused time and again.
